Common questions
Combi ovens, answered.
Which combi ovens do you hold in stock in Dubai?
Rational in 6-tray and 10-tray, Unox ChefTop in 5, 7, 10 and 20-tray, and Unox BakerTop in 6, 10 and 20-tray. Alto-Shaam, Electrolux Professional and Convotherm are not held in stock but can generally be supplied on short lead times.
What size combi oven do I need?
Set it by covers at peak rather than floor area. Around 100 covers a 6-tray usually works; at about 300 covers the 10-tray is the common choice; above 500 you are into a 20-tray or two smaller units stacked. Note that 6 and 10-tray units are normally set on a stand rather than a counter — only the 20-tray is genuinely floor-standing, and the stand is a separate item to allow for in the footprint and the budget. Two smaller units also give you redundancy that a single large one does not.
Do I need water treatment for a combi oven in the UAE?
Yes. Local water is hard, and untreated it scales the steam generator and shortens the life of the oven considerably. Most manufacturers will not cover a scale failure under warranty. We test the water, size the treatment to the oven and quote it as a separate line item so you can see what it costs and what it is for.
Which combi oven brand is best for a Dubai kitchen?
Rational, Unox and Electrolux Professional are all capable, and the right one depends on your menu, your volume and how you produce. Rational suits kitchens that want programme-led cooking. Unox is strong on value and compact footprints, and its BakerTop range is what we usually recommend for baking-heavy operations. Electrolux Professional is the one we point to for cook-and-chill: its SkyLine ovens communicate with SkyLine blast chillers through SkyDuo, so the oven hands its cooking data to the chiller and the chilling cycle is set automatically — worth having if you produce ahead rather than to order. We also supply Alto-Shaam and Convotherm — usually where a chef has worked with the brand before and prefers it, or where a specification calls for it.
Can I buy a single combi oven without a full kitchen project?
Yes. Most of our combi work is a single unit going into a kitchen that already exists, as an upgrade, a replacement or a second oven. We quote the unit, delivery, installation, commissioning and water treatment as one line-itemed price.
How quickly can I get a price?
Within 24 hours of telling us the model or your covers at peak. The quote is line-itemed, with the oven, delivery, installation, commissioning and water treatment shown separately.
What warranty comes with the oven?
One year manufacturer's warranty, supplied through the authorised channel.
Do you service combi ovens you did not supply?
Yes, under an annual maintenance contract or as a one-off call-out.
